what's fun for F and R right now

Nov 2012 - For F lego, minecraft, Harry Potter, Dragonese, learning more braille and teaching it to others, parties, lollies... For R, having a 'music lesson' playing tunes he has plucked out for himself
duplo, talking trains and cars

Feb 2011 - R is in to 'letters and numbers', anything with these on them, (keyboards, calculators, cash registers, toy phones...) or with them like the SBS quiz show 'letters and numbers' which is like the british 'countdown' and features lovely nerds, choosing 9 letters and making long words, or choosing 6 random numbers and using fab maths to get to a target number.  He sits at his keyboard, which we have put sticky braille labels onto, and says 'consonant', 'vowel' and then taps away like the clock 'you're time starts now'

Making recordings, like using his 'teddy phone' (thanks Auntie Cath, xmas 2008) to record the delightful tinkling sound of going to the toilet.  Or lining it up next to another noisy toy and recording the sound of the other noisy toy.

Talking clocks, talking timers, talking tape measures... if it makes a noise, or talks to him, he wants to play with it.

Noisy toys - he really enjoyed playing with a toy cash register that had a toy microphone on it 'service to aisle 9'...  when we were in Auckland

Talking braillers, like the Mountbatten, or switching on the free text to speech program on my laptop so that he can hear a Stephen Hawkins like voice telling him the names of the letters or formatting eg 'trskj space jkms space tab tab tab R...'
